Q: Are Farmhouse Co. Canvases constructed differently than traditional Lindsay Letters Canvases?
Our Farmhouse Canvases are a different type of Canvas construction than their Art Bar® Counterpart, but just as lovely in their own right! While Lindsay Letters' canvases have always been of the traditional variety (wood stretcher bars, wrapped and stapled cloth canvas), the Farmhouse Canvases are what we call a "rigid face construction," which means that they are almost like a box canvas, or a very thick (.75") canvas board. They are finished with a black matboard enclosed back and a simple sawtooth hanger. This treatment of the canvas ensures that they will never sag or warp, and they are also very easy to store. They are still printed with museum quality, archival inks and come ready-to-hang out of the box.
Q: What color the canvases?
A: Our farmhouse canvases come in five colors: Alabaster Distressed, Pure White, Schoolhouse, Blackboard, and Chambray. The Alabaster Distressed background is alabaster white in color, and the tones of white can vary depending on the piece. Some photos and filters from our internet friends might make the pieces look brighter than other, but we know that you'll love our easy-to-integrate white into your Farmhouse home!
Q: The canvases appear to have a cool texture on them...
Yes! The Alabaster Distressed background is specifically designed using a faux-distressing technique, which gives the Farmhouse Canvases a vintage, weathered look and adds interest to the sweetly simple designs. This distressing is done in the actual art file and is printed on the canvas. The distressing is more pronounced depending on the design, and we know you'll love the chippy, unique look this technique gives to the art.
